10 LISTS TO RE-INVENT YOUR ROUTINE
MORNING ROUTINE:
Create an attainable morning routine to begin your day with structure. Here are some suggestions:
Create a wake-up time and stick to that time. (even on the weekends!)
Start your day with stretching.
Drink an 8 oz glass of water
Do a 20–30-minute workout
NIGHTTIME ROUTINE:
End your day with a proper routine. Go to bed at a decent time and use this routine to wind down from the day.
Take a shower/bath
Do a skincare routine
Drink an 8 oz glass of water
DAILY TO-DO LIST (PDF DOWNLOAD HERE): TO DO LIST pdf Download - Etsy
Create a daily to-do list. Add your top priorities for the day, with a couple extra “reach” items. I always say “if I get 75% of my to-do list accomplished each day, I’m 100% happy”
SELF CARE STRATEGIES:
Whether you’re a single person, a mom, a spouse, or a mixture, you will always need to make time for yourself. Make a list of your favorite things that fill your cup that you can do alone or with someone else. A couple things that I would suggest are:
Go to get a pedicure
Go out to dinner (without the kids!)
Get a 60 minute or longer massage
MEAL PLANNING: (PDF DOWNLOAD HERE): WEEKLY MEAL PLAN pdf Download - Etsy
Start each week with planned dinners for each night. You can even meal prep on Sundays to make your 5pm-9pm less stressful.
DECLUTTER AND ORGANIZATION:
Create a list of your top 30 things that you want to organize around the house. Choose the beginning of each month to allocate 1 day to each task. This keeps you on track but doesn’t overwhelm you each month. Repeat month after month and you’ll be keeping up with these tasks before you know it. (TIP: It’s not unusual to have a list of at least 30-45 things on this list to start. Once you start keeping up with these tasks, this list will drop to 10-20 bigger tasks each month)
FINANCIAL GOALS:
Start your year off profitable. What do you actually want to accomplish this year? Write it down then make a list of financial goals you need to reach in order mark each item off the list. Keep this list handy all throughout the year. Start with your small financial goals first and move to the bigger ones as the year goes on.
BUDGET:
Once you have your financial goals set, move to your budget. I recommend setting a budget for your actual spending and what you predict you are going to spend. You can use the predicted amounts to determine which financial goals to start with. You can create your budget for weekly, monthly or annually, but you want to keep up with it weekly. You’ll start to notice the things you spend (or waste) your money on and become more conscious of your spending, therefore furthering your financial goals.
DAILY/WEEKLY CHORE LIST:
EVERYONE needs a chore list! What are the daily or weekly chores you need to keep up with? Write those down and allocate the days to each of them. Once you get in the routine of these, they will quickly turn into regular to-do’s, rather than chores. The goal here is to create a routine for these chores to make them less of an actual “chore”. Here are a few recommendations for your list:
Dishes
Clean Kitchen
Wash, Dry and Fold Laundry
Vaccuum Carpet
Mop Floor
Clean Toilets
HOBBIES:
Always make time for hobbies. Make a “bucket” list. Number the list from 1-15 from the most exciting thing as 1 and go down the list 1 by 1 each week. This is something you can use as part of your self-care strategies too. Take a weekend solo-cation, go to the beach, climb a mountain. Keep it realistic and attainable but make it adventurous and something to look forward to!
